We would like to introduce a case where we switched from high-speed steel drills to our "TA-EZ Drill" for large diameter hole drilling in SUS304, achieving four times the efficiency and double the lifespan. The customer's challenges included short tool life due to the current use of high-speed steel drills, low efficiency in both rotational and feed speeds, and high costs associated with large diameter tools. After switching to our product, we achieved both carbide drilling and the use of slow-wear inserts for large diameter hole drilling. The high-performance drill 'RT 100 XF' enables high feed rates and achieves reduced cycle times by optimizing all elements of the drill. It uses a specially developed carbide material for the RT 100 XF, which suppresses chipping, a factor that accelerates tool wear. The adoption of ultra-multilayer nanoFire coating and special treatments on both ends enhances adhesion to the carbide substrate. The double margin design with corner chamfers ensures high concentricity, straightness, and hole tolerances. The surface polishing process reduces heat transfer to the workpiece and provides excellent chip evacuation.
